Embrace the Festive Spirit: November Events in the Lake Oconee Area

This November, the Lake Oconee area is buzzing with exciting events for the whole family to enjoy. On November 18th, (rescheduled from 11/11) join Eatonton Main Street on the Courthouse Lawn at the Eatonton Mistletoe Market. From 10:00 am to 3:00 pm, the community will come together for a delightful shopping experience, perfect for getting a head start on holiday gifts. 

On November 17th, the Oconee Performing Arts Society stages an enchanting performance of Broadway Sings For OPAS. This event promises to be an unforgettable evening of arts and entertainment, showcasing the best of Broadway in our local community.

Get ready for a series of exciting events at The Ritz-Carlton, Lake Oconee this November through the New Year. Mark your calendar for November 16th, as Pastry Chef Michael Gaddy and his team create a life-sized Gingerbread Cottage in the Lobby from 12 am to midnight, bringing a Christmas dream to life. Make it a family affair on November 22, from 6 pm-8 pm, at the Annual Lighting at the Lake, or hit the Ice Skating rink from November 22 until January 1st, 2024.

To support local businesses and get unique finds, join us on November 25th, from 10:00 am to 5:00 pm for Small Business Saturday in Eatonton. This event is a fantastic opportunity to support local businesses while finding unique gifts for the holiday season. 

Get into the holiday spirit and don't forget to give back to the community by donating to food and toy drives. The Vining Group is your local drop-off for Toys 4 Tots & Greene Co Christmas Stocking Fund. Let's help bring joy to 300 children (ages 13 and younger) & seniors this holiday season with unwrapped gifts & monetary donations. Please make checks payable to Greene Co Christmas Stocking Fund and drop them off or mail to 6350 Lake Oconee Pkwy Suite 110-63, Greensboro, GA 30642. The final collection day is December 11th. 

For food donations, the Greene County Food Pantry welcomes you every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday from 10 am-1 pm as well as Putnam Christian Outreach open Tuesday-Friday; 9 am-6 pm, and Saturday; 9 am-4 pm. 

To kick start the Christmas spirit, the Lighting of the Tree in downtown Greensboro will take place on December 1st at 6 pm. If you are unable to attend, Christmas at the Plaza Eatonton is the day after (December 2nd) where you and your family can meet Santa from 10 am-12 pm. The first week of December will conclude with a Christmas Parade in Eatonton on December 9th at 1pm. 

There are so many ways to get in the spirit in the last two months of 2023! Go out, make memories, and spread the holiday cheer!
